• Alex Shohet – Executive Director
Alex Shohet is the entrepreneur who started the 12 Angels’ project based on his personal experiences as a recovering drug addict. Over the last 15 years, Mr. Shohet previously founded and privately sold two technology companies Computer Physicians and Sandbox Technologies. In 2002, Mr. Shohet sold his software application Media Taxi™, a B2B ASP based digital asset management and distribution system used by several major entertainment companies to Sonic Foundry (NASDAQ: sofo). His technology companies have generated over $50 million in revenue over his career.

• Dave Sheridan - Managing Director
Dave Sheridan has spent most of his career in the institutional investment management field. Dave grew up in Southern California, but after completing graduate school at U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, has spent most of his career on the East Coast. He’s worked in investment research, portfolio management, new product development and senior management at several prominent financial institutions including Mellon Bank, Prudential and PIMCO. He’s also worked in software design and IT consulting, and recently completed an assignment as interim CEO for a small technology company. Dave has been active in the recovery community since 1997. In addition to his role with 12 Angels, Dave currently serves on the board of the Sober Living Network an association of 300 sober living homes in Southern California.

• Chuck Hoover – Chief Financial Officer
Chuck Hoover has an extensive background in financial management in the healthcare industry. He became a Chief Financial Officer of a hospital at the age of 26 and worked in the healthcare field for 35 years. His experience also included two years as the CEO of IADARP a non-profit teenage and adult alcohol and drug rehab program in Southern California. He served on the board of Felicity House and women’s residential program in Culver City for five years. Mr. Hoover’s education was at Oklahoma State University. Mr. Hoover has 22 years of sobriety.

 

The first project successfully handled by the 12 Angels was the opening of Wonderland Center in July.

Wonderland Center is a new residential treatment center located in Laurel Canyon. The opening included two parties hosting over 350 people from the sober community.

The center is fully operational, providing residential treatment, out-patient services, sober companions, and sober living accommodations. The Wonderland Treatment team brings together the best of LA's addiction prevention professionals, and nearly all of the 12 beds available were full within the first month.
