12 Angels - Donations

Our organization’s mission is to create jobs and increase productivity for men and women recovering from alcoholism and addiction. We believe that business is a vehicle of social change. We support businesses that reduce the harm addictive disorders cause to individuals, their families and our society.

According to a 1992 report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration addictive disorders cost the United States more than $250 billion in lost productivity. Alcohol abuse and alcoholism cost an estimated $148 billion, while drug abuse and dependence cost an estimated $98 billion. Our organization is focused on reducing these huge costs to our society. *link to .pdf source

Our services increase the number of available jobs to individuals with criminal records, inconsistent work histories and scarred reputations. We provide opportunities to individuals who wish to change their lives and make a commitment to contribute to their community in positive ways.

The 12 Angels’ network is comprised of three different organizations:

A 501c3 non-profit, public benefit organization that provides business advisors, a jobs network, low interest loans, benefits support, and sobriety support groups to entrepreneurs in recovery and their companies.

A 501c6 non-profit mutual benefit Angel Investment Network, which provides services and educational materials to accredited investors who wish to make their own investment decisions and provide their own capital to entrepreneurs in recovery and/or invest in socially conscious businesses.

A for-profit Venture Fund that provides capital into businesses that have the potential to produce double bottom line results. The mission of the Venture Fund is to provide a positive financial return to the limited partners while providing solutions to the problems alcoholism and addiction cause to our society.

Wonderland Center

The first project successfully handled by the 12 Angels was the opening of Wonderland Center in July.

Wonderland Center is a new residential treatment center located in Laurel Canyon. The opening included two parties hosting over 350 people from the sober community.

The center is fully operational, providing residential treatment, out-patient services, sober companions, and sober living accommodations. The Wonderland Treatment team brings together the best of LA's addiction prevention professionals, and nearly all of the 12 beds available were full within the first month.
